Abstraction and application sustain all the
activities of the Department of Mathematics. The M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes
started by this department in 1960 are internationally accredited, and are
on par with similar programmes any where in the world. Students of all the
engineering departments benefit by taking core and elective courses in
mathematics.
A unique M.Tech. programme in Industrial Mathematics and
Scientific Computing introduced by the department in 1998 promotes
interdisciplinary investigations to solve industrial problems.More...
